Check Back Soon for the 2020 Overview
2019 Overview
Our on-campus classic race will feature a pool swim, a fast and flat bike course, and a spectator friendly run course.
Swim (400 meters)
The swim will take place in a heated, olympic length pool. Competitors will be seeded by swim time, with a racer leaving every 5 seconds within each race category. Each triathlete will then perform the snake swim by winding up and down the eight lanes to finish the (400 meter) swim.
*Flip turns will not be permitted and racers must touch the wall before then pushing off and under the lane line into the adjacent lane. Warm-Up: There will be pre-race warm-up swim time in the pool for anyone interested. The full pool will be open from 6:40am-7:10 am. We will clear the pool at 7:10 am, and anyone remaining in the pool thereafter will be disqualified. |
Bike (20k)
The bike course will consist of three, pancake-flat loops through UC Davis' outer campus and will be monitored by numerous UC Davis Police Department employees.

Run (5k, 3.2 miles)
The run course will consist of a single loop that goes out of transition following the transition from the end of the swim. The run will loop around the outside of the vet school and take participants down Garrod on a sidewalk next to the bikers. When the sidewalk ends, runners will be sent back up to retrace their run. The finish opens up to post-race events for participants.
